It became a focus of mine as I practiced and taught energy healing. In the classic film “Field of Dreams” a man is guided to build a baseball diamond in the middle of his farm. He was intuitively told “If you build it, he (a deceased baseball player) will come.” Acting on faith, he created it; and many ghostly baseball players showed up! Baseball, they said, was “a symbol of all that was good in America.” Astrologers and others talk about a dimensional shift and “building a new reality” in this Age of Aquarius. How do we help build that metaphysical bridge?

The eclipse window has affected me (again!) in ultimately good but stressful ways. The portal between a new moon solar eclipse and full moon lunar eclipse is powerful medicine, with positive and negative impacts. On a bigger scale there’s been a lot of volcanic and earthquake activity in this period - and now the massive glacial flood in Nepal. Boundaries! In nature there are rivers, mountains, and oceans. Most critters, even insects, create homes for themselves and mark territory in other ways. Humans do the same - making buildings, fences and walls to keep something in, or out. I want to focus on boundaries as they relate to the individual. The physical body is the most obvious and essential to respect, but it’s a crude starting point. We rely on our five senses to consciously assess those 3D boundaries, but there is so much more!

When you see, listen and talk to someone, there’s more going on than you imagine! A person’s voice, expressions and appearance convey a lot of information; underlying all of it is energy. You can say the same words in multitudes of ways* and signal very different things. Communication is happening on many levels. Thoughts (intention) and the meanings of the words spoken are still important; we have less control over our demeanor and physical cues. How does that all translate in today's world?

We’re in relation with everything. Animals, trees,  birds, bugs; all living beings, including Earth herself. Then there are the unseen connections with other conscious beings and energy fields. So much is  happening and affecting us, we can’t possibly hold it all in our mental awareness. What can we do, when our main point of reference is this physical body and life? Focus on what we can understand better – our relations with other humans. We ache for more harmony and love. What gets in the way?

We are the common denominator in all our interactions, so that’s where we start. Personal evolution is usually discussed in terms of personality, habits, mental and emotional stability and spirituality. What is lacking – and essential – is an understanding of the underlying energetic dynamics affecting everything.

Isn’t it ironic… We celebrate the birth of our nation on July 4th, Independence Day. On this momentous 250th anniversary we happen to be on the precipice of authoritarianism. It’s easy to understand why the colonists didn't want to be ruled (or taxed!) by a king. King George was a madman, and Americans-to-be were no longer connected by land, or even a state-sponsored religion. We all want freedom, but along with that there are still some responsibilities to society; we are interdependent.
