Spirals are a basic form in nature. Water swirls and can achieve vertical movement. Energy funnels down into our chakras, feeding our physiology. The “learning curve” is a spiral. In education it means visiting and getting familiar with a subject and moving on before it’s mastered. Upon returning to it time after time, you achieve a more thorough understanding. I believe evolution happens in a spiral. Lessons learned and integrated create overall progress. We can also view history that way!
It's said if you don’t know history you are doomed to repeat it. Like our individual karma, humanity’s “lessons” are repeated until mastered. It’s a process influenced by many factors, including the cycles of the planets in our solar system! Five outer planets will have hit 0 degrees this year, signifying new beginnings. It’s a major reset of cosmic energies that affects us. The final one, Uranus, arrives at 0 degrees in Gemini on July 7th.
Why is this one so interesting? Uranus cycles through Gemini every 84 years. Looking back at American history, what was happening during those times? The Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and WW2! Those were major upheavals that involved great conflicts. Families and neighbors were fighting against each other. Soldiers and others put their lives on the line for an ideal; the principle of self-determination. Freedom.
Those ideals are still playing out on battlefields around the world. Will the U.S. return to the democratic fold, or continue to support authoritarianism?
When a select few try to take power and control the resources of a nation, people have historically risen up. Fought back. Think of Washington’s soldiers in rags and barefoot, still fighting. Suffering involved a loss of lives and livelihoods; basic necessities of life were scarce. Food rationing in WW2 looks like food insecurity in 2025. Modern “victory gardens” will be more common as we import less and lose our agricultural workers.
Uranus has earned his title of “The Great Awakener.” He’s the Zodiac’s revolutionary bad boy, whose sworn mission is to overthrow establishment’s order. Like lightning, which he rules, he will illuminate or burn to a crisp with scant regard for the havoc he may cause. He does not want to reform whatever he touches; he wants to totally transform it.

Uranus is in Gemini until November 7th (oh boy, elections!). Then in the fall we get a retrograde reprieve until April 2026. From then on Uranus is in Gemini until 2032 (it takes 7 years to travel through a sign). More generally Urianus will affect electrical fields, communication, new frequencies.
June saw mass deportations, huge uprisings across the nation and a step toward WW3. The Bill Ugly Bill is poised to further decimate our economy, civil society, and rule of law. July is forecast to top that! We’re still in the “destruction” phase of this cycle. Things will be getting more intense before we see the dawn. What will we be called to sacrifice, and who will answer? We are making history, and the ending is uncertain.
During Uranus in Gemini we had some of the most difficult times in our history. Yet - look at the outcomes! Americans gained their independence from England. The question of freedom for ALL won out over slavery. Global alliances were formed to protect the sovereignty of all nations. To be sure, all of those new developments are still a work in progress – and yet. The principles and ideals that represent the best of human nature have gained ground. We’re on the spiral of evolution – and as with every moment in history, we have a choice point.
