Mind, BODY, and Spirit!

Aug 25, 2022

I’ve been studying, practicing and teaching energy healing for over two decades now. In the beginning I was so excited about the work I wanted to stand on a mountaintop and broadcast its value! I soon realized that I was an outlier.

The main focus of Western medicine is the physical body; those working with an expanded understanding of human physiology were dismissed. After all these years we're now “cutting edge”. It’s wonderful to see the acceptance and popularity of energy healing today.

People are coming out of the closet in terms of their experience with energetic and spiritual phenomena, and are hungry for ways to address those longings. There used to be very few (usually short-lived) schools to learn how to do this work in a specific, detailed way. Now there is a huge proliferation of modalities and programs.

So much of what I see being offered recently focuses on the energetic and spiritual, with the “trickle down” theory that the body will heal as a result. My approach to healing is inclusive of all aspects of our being. I don’t leave the body out! It‘s important to have techniques to work specifically with the body - after all, that’s the red flag that brings most clients to a healer.

People are charging a lot of money for a spiritual healing to “raise your vibration, do an energy clearing, release your blocks... to activate, initiate or attune” you. This is usually done simultaneously for a large group of people over a distance. Be aware that the effectiveness of these offerings vary significantly, and depend on how advanced the facilitator’s consciousness is.

The pre-internet version of this was sitting at the feet (and in the field of) an enlightened guru. Tibetan Buddhists have been giving initiations for centuries - called empowerments - as a precursor to practice. Whatever you call these new versions of spiritual enhancement (other names are a frequency accelerator, download or channeled healing) they are helpful as a starting point or supplement to actual practice.

There might be an immediate expansion, but when too big a change is introduced it’s hard to integrate. A sudden opening can be experienced as traumatic, and afterwards your system will contract back to its baseline. Following it with practice can help retain some of the effects and support incremental, sustainable progress. Otherwise there is a yo-yo effect, and people can become addicted to the high these experiences induce.

In an energy healing class setting you are in an expanded field for several days. It's a powerful group field composed of the students, teachers, and many guides. It's enhanced by the energy techniques used to “set up” the room. The intention to heal others also contributes to an elevated level of consciousness within that container. Returning home, you can build upon this growth by practicing what you've learned. That makes the integration easy, and both you and the person you’re working on will benefit.

Are you itching to do something like that - in depth, and in-person?

I know I am! I've missed teaching with a group in-person. (I’m also tired of meditating on Zoom, where the group energy field is much weaker than if we were present, together.) If you are serious about your personal evolution and helping people, consider my “Jumpstart Foundations” class coming up in October. It’s the way to create and sustain your growth both personally and as a healer. After doing this work for a while, your mere presence can affect others in a positive way (you’ll be the one raising their vibration!)

If you are curious and want to learn more, I invite you to check out the exercises I share in my FREE Masterclass. It also explains what to look for in any healer, teacher or training you might be considering. So whether you feel a calling to learn healing for yourself or for others, this is for you!

Peace, love and healing -

P.S. If you're not ready for that leap, my Masterclass will get you started with some simple practices to do on your own timeframe. Go for it!
