My last group of healing school graduates were from all over the country, with unique backgrounds. An established acupuncturist, a burned out massage therapist (empath!), a Reiki practitioner, an herbalist, psychologist, juvenile probation officer and mothers with no previous experience came together. Why? They all wanted to start or expand a professional healthcare practice. The common thread was a desire to grow spiritually, and learn specific ways to bring healing to others.

I’ve talked to many who are looking to satisfy a deep longing, to fully manifest their ultimate purpose; a calling.  Sometimes, to engage in meaningful work after paying the bills for years. Moving toward that something, feeling their way along, being led by their gut and intuition.

It can be like navigating through a dark room, feeling for touchstones along the way. An unseen force beckons. Bookmarking experiences, collecting treasure into a personal medicine pouch, knowing they'll be useful someday. Has that been your story?

When It all comes together you KNOW. The path forward is clear. You’ve found a practical, concise plan of action. Sure-footed even though you’re stepping into the unknown, you know a greater reality awaits. It just feels right. This is what I hear from people who become students! There are many factors involved in that decision; finding a teacher that you resonate with, a program that fits, and - the right time! All timing IS divine.

It happened for me as a recently divorced mother, with two little girls in tow. I  hadn't worked in five years;  returning to filmmaking with a family was out of the question. My finances were uncertain. It wouldn’t seem like the best time to start a 3yr energy healing training! I realized I’d been dancing around the edges of this for a long time. I was certain. In spite of my circumstances, I was determined to become an energy healer.  

On the other hand, there are always valid reasons and responsibilities that get in the way (and sometimes, excuses). It took me forever to write a book until I got a coach. She warned us that even more roadblocks would show up once we started writing (and boy was she right about that!) That’s the irony. There’s never a perfect time, but when it feels predestined, you commit anyhow - and that commitment carries you through all the obstacles.

I wouldn’t trade the years of phenomenal experiences I’ve had in my healing career for any other path. It’s not always been easy, but has supported my clients - and me - through many challenging times. This work still inspires, invoking wonder and awe at what’s possible.

How will you move forward?
