An Equinox Practice

Sep 21, 2023

At the equinox there is the greatest influx of active energy from the sun than at any other time of the year. The high level of electromagnetic energy is indicated by solar flares, and the northern lights even make it visible to us! We are of the earth; what the planet experiences, so do we.

My mission in all my work is to make the unconscious energetics we are engaged with everyday, conscious. This includes our interactions with people, animals, plants, land, water - all living beings on earth.

Ancient sites have been built across the world, throughout time, to direct the equinox energy. They are specifically positioned so that a shaft of light enters into a canal that illuminates a womb-like central cavern at the equinox. In this exercise we are also drawing the energy of the equinox sun down through canals in our physiology, grounding us deep in the earth and filling up our entire being - body, soul and auric field.

If you would like a brief description of how to locate the Hara dantien points, the chakras and the soul body, here it is: CLICK HERE.

The Practice

This is ideally done at dawn and dusk; do the best you can according to your own time clock! I’m a night owl, so I do it soon after I get up in the am, and within a half hour either side of sunset.

Breath in slowly through your nose; breath out slowly through your mouth. Breathing out your mouth helps elongate the breath.

  1. In breath - take in the energy of the sun in from the upper dantien point on your Hara line (which is on the edge of your auric field). Out breath - release the energy down along your Hara line and the other two dantien points, and then between your legs into the earth.
  2. In breath - take in the energy of the sun in from your upper dantien point and into your 7th/crown chakra. Out breath - release the energy down, visiting each of the other six chakras along the way, and then between your legs into the earth.
  3. In breath - take in the energy of the sun in from your upper dantien point and into your 7th/crown chakra. Out breath - release the energy down, filling your entire body and then out your feet and into the earth.
  4. In breath - take in the energy of the sun in from your upper dantien point and part way along your Hara line. Out breath - release the energy down into your soul body (at your solar plexus just below your sternum), then expand your soul body out to fill your entire auric field (three feet out and surrounding your body, it’s your personal energetic real estate!)

This is best done for one week, before, during and/or just after the equinox.
